Education in Afghanistan faces numerous challenges but remains a crucial aspect of the country’s development. Over the years, the educational system has struggled with limited resources, ongoing conflict, and political instability, which have affected access to quality education. Despite these hurdles, significant progress has been made, particularly in urban areas, where more schools and educational institutions have been established. Both boys and girls have gained greater access to primary and secondary education, and there has been a steady increase in the number of female students in schools and universities. International organizations and NGOs have played a key role in providing educational services, building schools, and training teachers. However, many rural areas still face barriers to education, such as a lack of infrastructure, societal resistance, and security concerns. Despite these challenges, the desire for education is strong, and efforts to improve literacy rates and provide vocational training continue to be a priority for both the Afghan government and the international community.
